शाळेच्या मैदानावर उतरले चांदणे! 

सेंट उर्सुला गर्ल्स हायस्कूलमध्ये रंगली खगोलशास्त्राची अनोखी सफर.

नागपूर,ता.३ : सिव्हिल लाईन येथील सेंट उर्सुला गर्ल्स हायस्कूल येथे ‘स्पेस एस्ट्रॉनॉमी’ या विषयांतर्गत आयोजित करण्यात आलेला आगळावेगळा खगोलशास्त्रीय उपक्रम मोठ्या उत्साहात पार पडला. विद्यार्थ्यांसह पालकांनी ग्रह ताऱ्यांचे तेजस्वी विश्व प्रत्यक्ष अनुभवत विज्ञानाची रोमांचकारी सफर केली.

या उपक्रमाचे हे पहिलेच वर्ष असून, पहिल्याच प्रयत्नात त्याला अभूतपूर्व प्रतिसाद लाभला. सायंकाळी शाळेच्या आवारात आयोजित कार्यक्रमामध्ये दुर्बिणीच्या सहाय्याने चंद्रावरील खड्डे, तेजस्वी ग्रह आणि तारकासमूहांचे मनोहारी दर्शन घडविण्यात आले. आकाशातील चमचमत्या तारकांना जवळून पाहण्याचा अनुभव विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी अविस्मरणीय ठरला.

विशेष म्हणजे, सुमारे पाचशे ते सहाशे पालकांनी हिरीहिरीने सहभाग घेत आपल्या मुलांसोबत खगोलविश्वाचा अभ्यास केला. पालक आणि विद्यार्थ्यांनी मिळून विज्ञानाविषयीची जिज्ञासा आणि कुतूहल अधिक दृढ केले.

कार्यक्रमादरम्यान विद्यार्थ्यांनी तयार केलेली ग्रहांची मॉडेल्स, सौरमालेचे प्रात्यक्षिक सादरीकरण आणि माहितीफलक हे आकर्षणाचे केंद्र ठरले. ‘स्पेस एस्ट्रॉनॉमी’ या विषयाचे महत्त्व, ग्रह-ताऱ्यांची वैशिष्ट्ये आणि आकाश निरीक्षणाची पद्धत याविषयी सविस्तर मार्गदर्शन करण्यात आले.

नागपूर शहरात अशा प्रकारचा खगोलशास्त्र विषयक उपक्रम राबविणारी ही एकमेव शाळा ठरली असून, या अभिनव प्रयोगामुळे शैक्षणिक क्षेत्रात नवा आदर्श निर्माण झाला आहे. विज्ञान विषयाची गोडी वाढविण्यासोबतच विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये संशोधनाची वृत्ती आणि वैज्ञानिक दृष्टीकोन विकसित करण्याचा हेतू या उपक्रमातून सफल झाला.

या अभिनव खगोलशास्त्रीय उपक्रमाच्या यशस्वी आयोजनामागे शाळेच्या नेतृत्वाचा मोलाचा वाटा आहे. शाळेच्या मॅनेजर मॅडम सौ रचना सिंग यांच्या दूरदृष्टी पूर्ण नेतृत्वामुळे हा कार्यक्रम यशस्वीरित्या पार पडल ा

सौ शितल पीटर, मुख्याध्यापिका यांच्या विज्ञानविषयक उपक्रमांना दिलेल्या प्रोत्साहनामुळे हा कार्यक्रम साकार झाला.

तसेच श्री विशाल पीटर उपमुख्याध्यापक यांनी नियोजन, समन्वय आणि व्यवस्थापनाची जबाबदारी समर्थपणे पार पाडत कार्यक्रम यशस्वी होण्यासाठी विशेष प्रयत्न केले.

पर्यवेक्षिका लता पळसकर आणि स्मिता शेंडे यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना मार्गदर्शन करत, संपूर्ण उपक्रम सुरळीत पार पाडण्यासाठी महत्त्वपूर्ण सहकार्य केले.

यासोबतच ‘स्पेस’ विषयाचे प्रशिक्षक शिक्षक यांनी खगोलशास्त्राची सखोल माहिती, प्रत्यक्ष प्रात्यक्षिके आणि दुर्बिणीद्वारे निरीक्षण यामुळे कार्यक्रम अधिक रंजक व ज्ञानवर्धक केला.

या सर्वांच्या एकत्रित प्रयत्नांमुळेच हा उपक्रम केवळ कार्यक्रम न राहता विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी प्रेरणादायी अनुभव ठरला.

Galaxy Journey in the School Premises – Innovative Experiment of St. Ursula Girls High School

Nagpur, Date 3: A unique astronomical activity organized under the subject of ‘Space Astronomy’ at St. Ursula Girls High School in Civil Lines was conducted with great enthusiasm. Students along with their parents took a thrilling journey of science by experiencing the bright world of planets and stars firsthand.

This is the first year of this activity, and it received an unprecedented response in its first attempt. In the program organized in the evening in the school premises, a beautiful view of craters on the moon, bright planets and star clusters was created with the help of telescopes. The experience of seeing the sparkling stars in the sky up close was unforgettable for the students. Notably, about five hundred to six hundred parents participated enthusiastically and studied the celestial world with their children. Parents and students together strengthened their curiosity and inquisitiveness about science.

During the program, the planetary models prepared by the students, the practical presentation of the solar system and the information board were the center of attraction. Detailed guidance was given on the importance of the subject of ‘Space Astronomy’, the characteristics of planets and stars and the method of sky observation.

This is the only school in Nagpur city to implement such an astronomy-related initiative, and this innovative experiment has created a new paradigm in the field of education. Along with increasing the interest in science, the aim of developing a research attitude and scientific outlook among the students was achieved through this initiative.

The school principal, teaching staff and the organizing committee are being widely praised for this successful initiative. The program was realized due to the encouragement given to science activities by Sou Sheetal Peter, the principal. Also, Mr. Vishal Peter, the vice principal, made special efforts to make the program successful by competently carrying out the responsibility of planning, coordination and management.Supervisors Lata Palaskar and Smita Shende guided the students and provided significant support for the smooth conduct of the entire program. Along with this, the instructor teacher of the subject ‘Space’ made the program more interesting and informative with his in-depth knowledge of astronomy, hands-on demonstrations and observation through telescopes.It was due to the combined efforts of all of them that this program was not just a program but an inspiring experience for the students.
