राजेश नार्वेकर : उपजिल्हाधिकारी ते परिवहन आयुक्त..एक धडाडीचा प्रवास!

मुंबई: राज्य प्रशासनातील दोन महत्त्वाच्या पदांवरील नियुक्त्यांची घोषणा करण्यात आली आहे. राज्याचे परिवहन आयुक्त विवेक भीमनवार यांची महाराष्ट्र लोकसेवा आयोगाच्या (MPSC) अध्यक्षपदी नियुक्ती झाल्यानंतर, त्यांच्या रिक्त जागी राजेश नार्वेकर यांची नवे परिवहन आयुक्त म्हणून नियुक्ती करण्यात आली आहे. नार्वेकर हे सध्या अन्न आणि औषध प्रशासन (FDA) विभागात आयुक्त म्हणून कार्यरत होते. त्यांच्याकडे आता राज्याच्या परिवहन विभागाची महत्त्वाची धुरा सोपवण्यात आली आहे.

अनुभवी प्रशासकीय अधिकारी

राजेश नार्वेकर हे २००९ च्या बॅचचे भारतीय प्रशासकीय सेवेतील (IAS) अधिकारी आहेत. त्यांचा प्रशासकीय अनुभव मोठा असून त्यांनी १९९४ मध्ये उपजिल्हाधिकारी म्हणून आपल्या प्रवासाला सुरुवात केली होती. त्यांच्या कारकिर्दीतील काही महत्त्वाचे टप्पे खालीलप्रमाणे आहेत: 

जिल्हाधिकारी, ठाणे: २०१८ ते २०२२ या काळात त्यांनी ठाणे जिल्ह्याचे यशस्वी नेतृत्व केले.

आयुक्त, नवी मुंबई महानगरपालिका: ऑक्टोबर २०२२ ते मार्च २०२३ दरम्यान त्यांनी नवी मुंबईच्या विकासात भर घातली. इतर महत्त्वाच्या जबाबदाऱ्या: म्हाडा, नोंदणी व मुद्रांक विभाग, एमआयडीसी आणि रायगड जिल्हा परिषदेचे मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (CEO) म्हणून त्यांनी प्रभावी काम केले आहे.

पुरस्कार आणि गौरव

नार्वेकर यांच्या कामाची दखल घेऊन त्यांना आजवर अनेक सन्मान मिळाले आहेत. स्वच्छ भारत मिशन: उत्कृष्ट कामगिरीबद्दल गौरव.

निवडणूक कार्य: २०१९ च्या लोकसभा आणि विधानसभा निवडणुकांमध्ये जिल्हा निवडणूक अधिकारी म्हणून चोख भूमिका.

कोविड-१९ योद्धा: कोरोना काळात त्यांनी केलेल्या उपाययोजनांसाठी राज्यपालांच्या हस्ते 'सेवा पुरस्कारा'ने सन्मानित.

आंतरराष्ट्रीय अनुभव

दिल्ली-मुंबई औद्योगिक कॉरिडॉर सारख्या महत्त्वाकांक्षी प्रकल्पात नार्वेकर यांचे मोठे योगदान आहे. या प्रकल्पासाठी त्यांनी जपानमधील ओसाका येथे विशेष तांत्रिक प्रशिक्षणही घेतले आहे. त्यांच्या या प्रदीर्घ अनुभवाचा उपयोग आता परिवहन विभागाला गती देण्यासाठी होईल, अशी अपेक्षा व्यक्त केली जात आहे.

Rajesh Narvekar is the new Transport Commissioner of the state

Mumbai: Appointments to two important posts in the state administration have been announced. After the appointment of State Transport Commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar as the Chairman of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), Rajesh Narvekar has been appointed as the new Transport Commissioner in his vacant position. Narvekar was currently working as a Commissioner in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) department. He has now been entrusted with the important post of the state's transport department.

Experienced administrative officer

Rajesh Narvekar is a 2009 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. He has vast administrative experience and started his journey as a Deputy Collector in 1994. Some of the important milestones in his career are as follows:

District Collector, Thane: He successfully led Thane district from 2018 to 2022.

Commissioner, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation: He contributed to the development of Navi Mumbai from October 2022 to March 2023.

Other important responsibilities: He has done effective work as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MHADA, Registration and Stamps Department, MIDC and Raigad Zilla Parishad.

Awards and Honors

Narvekar has received many honors in recognition of his work so far:

Swachh Bharat Mission: Honor for excellent performance.

Election Work: Excellent role as District Election Officer in the 2019 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Covid-19 Warrior: Honored with the 'Seva Puraskar' by the Governor for the measures he took during the Corona period.

International Experience

Narvekar has made a great contribution to ambitious projects like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor. For this project, he has also undergone special technical training in Osaka, Japan. It is expected that this long experience of his will now be used to accelerate the transport department.
