नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या आज निवडणुक आहे. शहर स्मार्ट होत असताना, आपल्या गल्लीतील प्रश्न सोडवणारा लोकप्रतिनिधी निवडण्याची संधी पुन्हा एकदा आपल्या हातात आली आहे. यंदाची निवडणूक 'प्रभाग पद्धती'नुसार (Panel System) होत असल्याने, मतदारांना एकापेक्षा अधिक मते देण्याचा अधिकार आहे. पण हे मतदान नेमके कसे करावे आणि कोणाला निवडावे, यावर विचार करणे गरजेचे आहे.
प्रभाग पद्धत म्हणजे काय? (A, B, C, D मतदान)
या पद्धतीत एका प्रभागातून साधारणपणे ४ नगरसेवक निवडले जातात. मतदान केंद्रावर गेल्यावर तुम्हाला एकाच ईव्हीएम मशीनवर किंवा वेगवेगळ्या बॅलेटवर 'अ', 'ब', 'क', आणि 'ड' अशा चार जागांसाठी मतदान करायचे असते.
लक्षात ठेवा: तुम्हाला प्रत्येक गटासाठी (A, B, C, D) एक, असे एकूण ४ मते द्यायची आहेत.
जर तुम्ही फक्त एकाच व्यक्तीला मत दिले आणि बाकीचे सोडले, तरी तुमचे मत ग्राह्य धरले जाते, परंतु आपल्या प्रभागाच्या सर्वांगीण विकासासाठी चारही सक्षम उमेदवार निवडणे फायद्याचे ठरते.

मागील कामाचा अहवाल: जर उमेदवार जुनाच असेल, तर गेल्या ५ वर्षात त्यांनी रस्ते, पाणी, आणि स्वच्छतेबाबत काय काम केले? नवीन असेल तर त्यांची सामाजिक कामातील पार्श्वभूमी काय आहे?
शिक्षण आणि व्हिजन: महानगरपालिकेचे बजेट आणि विकासकामे समजून घेण्याची क्षमता असलेल्या सुशिक्षित उमेदवाराला पसंती द्या. ज्याच्याकडे शहराच्या भविष्यासाठी स्पष्ट आराखडा (Vision) आहे, तोच खऱ्या अर्थाने बदल घडवू शकतो.
स्वच्छ प्रतिमा: भ्रष्टाचार किंवा गुन्हेगारी पार्श्वभूमी नसलेल्या व्यक्तीला निवडून देणे हे आपले कर्तव्य आहे.
तुमच्या एका मताचे महत्त्व
नागपूर हे 'ऑरेंज सिटी' सोबतच आता 'मेट्रो सिटी' म्हणून ओळखले जात आहे. पण सिमेंट रोडसोबतच आपल्याला सुरक्षित पाणीपुरवठा, कचरा व्यवस्थापन, चांगले बगीचे आणि सरकारी शाळांचा दर्जा सुधारण्याची गरज आहे. जेव्हा तुम्ही 'अ, ब, क, ड' साठी बटण दाबता, तेव्हा तुम्ही फक्त एका व्यक्तीला नाही, तर तुमच्या प्रभागाच्या पुढच्या ५ वर्षांच्या भविष्याला मत देत असता.

What is the ward system? (A, B, C, D voting)
In this system, 4 corporators are generally elected from a ward. After going to the polling station, you have to vote for four seats namely 'A', 'B', 'C', and 'D' on the same EVM machine or on different ballots.
Remember: You have to cast a total of 4 votes, one for each group (A, B, C, D).
Even if you vote for only one person and leave the rest, your vote is considered, but it is beneficial to elect all four capable candidates for the overall development of your ward.
Who should citizens vote for? (Criteria for Selection)
While voting, do not just look at the party or the face, but consider the following:
Local availability: Give preference to the candidate who comes to your happiness and sorrow and whose office is always open for the citizens.
Past work report: If the candidate is old, what work has he done in the last 5 years regarding roads, water, and cleanliness? If he is new, what is his background in social work?
Education and Vision: Give preference to an educated candidate who has the ability to understand the budget and development works of the municipal corporation. Only the one who has a clear vision for the future of the city can truly bring about change.
Clean image: It is our duty to elect a person who is free from corruption or criminal background.
The importance of your one vote
Nagpur is now known as a 'Metro City' along with the 'Orange City'. But along with cement roads, we need safe water supply, waste management, good gardens and improving the quality of government schools. When you press the button for 'A, B, C, D', you are not just voting for a person, but for the future of your ward for the next 5 years.
