If power bill waiver is not declared, we will hold satyagraha outside the Chief Minister's residence: AAP
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has sent a warning to Chief Minister Thackeray to stage a satyagraha, demanding that electricity connections of those with outstanding bills should not be cut off, farmers should be exempted from electricity bills, CAG audit of power companies should be done, power tariff hike from April 1, 2020 should be withdrawn. Were given across the state.
Nagpur, Tal. 5: The situation of the people in the state was very bad due to the lockdown during the Kovid-19 epidemic and the people have not come out of it till date. There have been lockdowns in several districts since last month. We have declared a lockdown in the state 2 days a week. Meanwhile, the government has started cutting off the electricity connections of the people who could not pay their bills. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state convener Ranga Rachure has warned that the government should declare a waiver of electricity bills during the lockdown period, otherwise it will hold a satyagraha on the 19th outside the Chief Minister's residence.
The Mahavikas Aghadi government had promised to keep the rate of industrial power competitive with other states as per the pledge to reduce the rate by 30% up to 300 units. As the power tariff in Maharashtra is the highest in the country, if it is reduced, the people can get a definite relief.
The Energy Minister and the Chief Minister, who have promised to give Diwali gifts to the people by giving discounts on electricity bills, should not give further impetus to this issue and should give concessions to ordinary household meter holders and farmers who are facing financial difficulties. As per the order issued in November, the government is saying that it is currently paying the installments, but the government has not benefited from the interest charged on it. This interest is levied by the government.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had announced that the power cut would be stopped till the discussion in the Interim Assembly and took a U-turn again. Power outages continue in some cities despite lockdowns, farmers in the state have also been in crisis since last March, so the plan for them is fraudulent, no farmer can pay now, so they need a full waiver. Overall, however, the people's endurance has come to an end. That is why the government should resolve the issue of electricity bill concession within 15 days, otherwise the Aam Aadmi Party will hold a satyagraha outside the residence of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday, April 19, 2021, said Ranga Rachure.

Along with fulfilling Uddhav Thackeray's promise to provide 30% cheaper electricity to the people, 200 units of electricity bill for the month of March to August between Kovid should be waived, no interest should be charged on overdue electricity bills from March 2020 to March 2021. Electricity connections of those who are in arrears should not be cut off, farmers should be exempted from electricity bills, CAG audit of electricity companies should be done. The Aam Aadmi Party has demanded that the power tariff hike from April 1, 2020 be withdrawn. Statements from Mahavikas Aghadi to Chief Minister Thackeray warning him of Satyagraha have been given by him through the District Collector.
