नागपूर : मानकापूर येथील लुंबिनी बुद्ध विहारात देशाचा ८० वा स्वातंत्र्यदिन उत्साहपूर्ण आणि देशभक्तीच्या वातावरणात साजरा करण्यात आला. विविध उपक्रमांसह आयोजित करण्यात आलेल्या या कार्यक्रमाला परिसरातील नागरिकांचा उत्स्फूर्त प्रतिसाद मिळाला. कार्यक्रमाच्या प्रारंभी भारतरत्न डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर आणि राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी यांच्या प्रतिमांचे पूजन करून मान्यवरांनी अभिवादन केले. त्यानंतर माजी नगरसेवक रघुनाथ मालीकर, घनश्याम मांगे आणि प्रदेश काँग्रेस कमिटी ओबीसी विभागाचे प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष संजय भिलकर यांच्या हस्ते ध्वजारोहण करण्यात आले.

स्वातंत्र्यदिनाचे औचित्य साधून दहावी आणि बारावीच्या परीक्षेत उल्लेखनीय यश संपादन करणाऱ्या गुणवंत विद्यार्थ्यांचा मानचिन्ह देऊन गौरव करण्यात आला. विद्यार्थ्यांच्या यशाचे कौतुक करत मान्यवरांनी त्यांना पुढील शैक्षणिक वाटचालीसाठी शुभेच्छा दिल्या. कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन सुखदेव मनोहरे यांनी केले, तर अभिजित कांबळे यांनी उपस्थितांचे आभार मानले. यावेळी लुंबिनी बुद्ध विहाराचे अध्यक्ष मारोतराव गोडबोले, अमरजी बागडे, चरणदासजी बैतुलकर, अशोक बागडे, सुनील निरंजने, जांभूळकर, टेंभुर्णे यांच्यासह गुड मॉर्निंग योगा क्लबचे पदाधिकारी, महिला मंडळाच्या सदस्य आणि परिसरातील नागरिक व युवक मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते. देशभक्ती, सामाजिक बांधिलकी आणि गुणवंत विद्यार्थ्यांचा गौरव अशा त्रिवेणी संगमामुळे लुंबिनी बुद्ध विहारातील स्वातंत्र्यदिन सोहळा संस्मरणीय ठरला.

Independence Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Lumbini Buddha Vihar; Meritorious Students Felicitated

Nagpur: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Lumbini Buddha Vihar in Mankapur. The programme witnessed an enthusiastic response from residents of the area. The event began with floral tributes and homage to Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi. This was followed by flag hoisting at the hands of former corporator Raghunath Malikar, Ghanshyam Mange and Sanjay Bhilkar, State Vice-President of the OBC Department of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.

On the occasion of Independence Day, meritorious students who excelled in the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations were felicitated with mementos. The dignitaries congratulated the students on their achievements and wished them success in their future academic endeavours. The programme was conducted by Sukhdev Manohare, while Abhijit Kamble proposed the vote of thanks. Lumbini Buddha Vihar President Marot Rao Godbole, Amarji Bagde, Charandasji Baitulkar, Ashok Bagde, Sunil Niranjane, Jambhulkar and Tembhurne were present along with office-bearers of the Good Morning Yoga Club, members of the women’s group, local residents and a large number of youths.

The celebration, marked by patriotism, social commitment and recognition of academic excellence, made the Independence Day programme at Lumbini Buddha Vihar a memorable occasion.
